Back to Work!

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Christmas has come and gone, and the only thing that remains are the bills! So get back to work!!

It looks like 2008 will have a lot of good things in store for the site… And here’s a preview of some cool content: first, an amazing short film that was directed by Tyler Shields, and stars Rainn Wilson from The Office. Even without writers, prepare for some laughter. Second, tons of new celebrity photos. Ranging from Anna Faris to Lacey Chabert to even Stryker from KROQ- but lots of cool pics in the near future. Also, the blog should hopefully be getting a face lift- and not by the same plastic surgeon as Kanye’s Mom- so don’t worry too much. Also- we will be launching tons of cool behind the scenes video’s from various photo soots so everyone out there can see what its really like to be on set with a celebrity and a demanding photographer.

And if anyone out there has more suggestions for content please let me know what you would like to see- and i’ll do my best to get it up here.

So as my friend Shane Drake would say, “Prepare for the OCHO!”

In the meantime, check out the most requested photo from my blog- Josh Hartnett. I may never blog this photo again, so enjoy it one last time.

Things have been hot in LA the past few days, with the temperature in the high 80’s. But also everyone is trying to finish as many jobs as possible before the big holiday season looming in the horizon. In the next few weeks i’ll have some new pics from all of these shoots, including a few covers, and editorials. Check out this recent cover of Flaunt Magazine with Josh Hartnett.

Movie Review: 30 Days of Night

Monday, October 29th, 2007

I finally had the time last night to go and check out vampire horror film 30 Days of Night. The film was great in my opinion! If you like Vampire flicks, and really gory slasher films, then this film is for you. The Director David Slade did a great job blending the graphic novel and the film into one. I also liked how he re-invented the Vampire look, as well as gave them their own language. Josh Hartnett was good in the film, and Ben Foster’s small part was well played. Also, i’ve never seen so many heads chopped off with an Axe in one movie. so the film had that going for it (Thanks Sam Raimi!). The film has made almost $30 million so far, with an estimated budget at $32 million. So it looks like it will be a financial success as well as an entertaining movie.

New Movie Friday!

Friday, October 26th, 2007

If its Friday in America then you know there’s new movies in the theaters today… So here’s a brief rundown of what you can and should see. First off, if your in the Halloween mood, you can check out Saw 4 - which i’m sure isn’t as good as the original, but will most likely be better than Saw 5 when that comes out next Halloween. Originally, Saw 4 was meant to go straight to DVD, but after the success of last years Saw 3, the studio figured it was a reasonable gamble. Personally, I would check out 30 Days of Night instead (if you haven’t seen it already).

But also in theaters is the Steve Carrell comedy, Dan In Real Life. I love Steve’s brand of comedy, so i’m sure the movie will be entertaining at the least. If anyone sees the film let me know how it is. But the film i’m most excited that is finally released wide is Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited. Wes makes great, unique films, and this one is no exception. I havent seen the film yet, but there is an 11 minute “prequel” short, Hotel Chevalier, you can download off of iTunes for free. Even if you aren’t going to see the film, you should check out the short. Let’s just say Natalie Portman is amazing in it. hehe

New Movie Friday!

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Its Friday so that means new movies are in theatres!! And the one i’m going to check out is 30 Days of Night. This graphic novel-adapted film has a great trailer, and stars one of my favorite actors Ben Foster. Yu Tsai shot Ben last weekend for an upcoming editorial, and after seeing the pics it got me really excited to see the film. Once I see it i’ll be sure to post a review.

Also opening in theatres this weekend is The Comeback, a spoof sports film starring David Koechner, in the similar vain of Date Movie and Scary Movie. I’m guessing for this film to be funny you will need to take some illegal substances. But also in theatres is the Jake Gyllenhal and Reese Witherspoon political thriller, Rendition. I saw the movie at an advanced screening and it was pretty good- but Jake and Reese aren’t even in one seen together- which will kill it for all you fans out there who want to see their “on-screen chemistry”. But the movie is still worth checking out.

Weekend Box Office Wrap Up

Monday, October 15th, 2007

With 3 major studio films opening in theatres this weekend it was a tough fight for the number one spot- but as usual, Tyler Perry comes out on top. For those of you who don’t know, Tyler Perry is an actor/director that has also written and produced mega hits like Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea’s Family Reunion, and the TV show House of Payne. Anyways… Tyler has what Hollywood calls “the urban market” by the balls. All of his films are wildly successful, and this weekend was no exception. His newest film Why Did I get Married? grossed $21.5 million, beating out last’s weeks champ The Gameplan ($11.5 mil) and newcomers Michael Clayton and We Own the Night which both grossed $11 million respectively.

And finally hitting theatres this Friday is the much anticipated graphic novel-turned-movie 30 Days of Night which stars Josh Hartnett, Ben Foster and Melissa George.  The trailer looks bad-ass, and if its anything close to the comic that Steve Niles wrote, then i’m sure it will be very entertaining. Not to mention Sam Raimi and Ghosthouse Pictures is producing it, so you know they didn’t spare a dime. So if anyone sees it before I do, please drop me a comment with your review. But in the meantime, check out this photo of Josh Hartnett that Yu Tsai shot for the recent Flaunt Cover & editorial.

“The Game Plan” rules at this weekends Box Office

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Well it seems that The Rock aka Duane Johnson proved to us once again that tough men acting silly equals money in the pockets to Walt Disney Pictures. The Game Plan brought in an estimated $22.7 million, with The Kingdom, starring Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner and Chris Cooper coming in 2nd with $17.7 million. Resident Evil:Extinction was 3rd with $8 million, while Good Luck Chuck and 3:10 to Yuma stayed strong with $6.3 mil and $4.16 mil respectively.

And coming out October 19th is the Josh Hartnett film 30 Days of Night. There hasn’t been a really cool Vampire film in awhile, so hopefully this film will deliver. The film also stars Ben Foster, who was incredible in 3:10 to Yuma, and Melissa George from the Amityville Horror. In the meantime, check out this cool pic of Josh from the recent Flaunt Mag shoot.

Josh Hartnett + Vampires

Friday, September 14th, 2007

If you’re a big Josh Hartnett fan, or a vampire movie buff, you should check out the new trailer to Josh’s upcoming film, 30 Days of Night. The film is produced by Sam Raimi, and also stars Ben Foster and Melissa George. It looks pretty good, and Ben looks bad-ass as usual in it.

On news stands right now is the Flaunt Magazine cover of Josh Hartnett – as shot by Yu Tsai. I think its one of the “coolest” photo of Josh yet. Check it out….
